San Fernando Valley Economy Outperforming Analyst Expectations

San Fernando Valley, Calif., February 12 – For a four week period ending December 17th, Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP and the San Fernando Valley Business Journal(SFVBJ) conducted a business climate survey in the San Fernando Valley concerning business growth in 2008. The results: 2008 should be great!
Beginning on November 16, 2007, in the midst of a Hollywood writers strike and constant conversation about recession, Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP and the SFVBJ set out to find how local business’ outlook for 2008 have been influenced by the nation’s financial woes. The survey of Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP clients and readers of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal showed that business’ surveyed forecasted a year that will exceed analysts’ expectations.
The survey concludes that 52% of Valley businesses are expecting to hire new employees in 2008 and 43% are expecting revenue growth exceeding 10%.
