Miller Kaplan and the 2009 Licensing Expo

Las Vegas, Nevada, June 6 – From June 2nd to June 4th Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co’s Licensing and Royalty Compliance division participated in its 9th consecutive Licensing Expo.

2009 marked the first year in which the Licensing Expo was held at its new West Coast home, the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. “We were excited that the show was moved to Las Vegas …” explained Marcus O’Bryant, Miller Kaplan’s marketing coordinator. “The location is great, the general buzz around the show’s new location is awesome and the contacts we are making here are wonderful.”

During the three day long show, Miller Kaplan used its time to exhibit at the show, meeting, greeting and discussing potential areas of concern and opportunity for licensors with clients and show attendees. As in the past, Charles Schnaid, CPA and Brian Harris, CPA, partners in the licensing and royalty compliance division, served as moderators and panelists for several licensing seminars during the show.

New for the Licensing show this year, was Miller Kaplan’s first annual cocktail social, also held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. The small invite only event was held in one of the Mandalay Bay’s luxury suites and was attended by about 50 licensing decision makers.
