Fred Wolinsky, CPA, MBA

For over 30 years, Fred Wolinsky has been active in royalty compliance and related matters, serving as the head of music royalty compliance for some of the nation’s largest and most respected firms. Mr. Wolinsky has frequently been retained as a litigation consultant and an expert witness in a variety of music-related cases, including the Ronettes vs. Phil Spector and B.J. Thomas, et al vs. Gusto Records, which was upheld in favor of his clients by the U.S. Court of Appeals (Sixth District) and continues to favorably impact recording artists and their royalty rights, today. In 2005, Mr. Wolinsky was retained by Buchalter Nemer to represent counsel to the Trustee as the music industry expert to sort out the assets, liabilities, income and expenses in a record company bankruptcy case. Based on Mr. Wolinsky’s report, counsel was successful in bringing forth a favorable settlement of claims made by Mr. Wolinsky against the debtor and related parties on behalf of the Estate. In July 2002, Mr. Wolinsky testified before the California Senate Judiciary Committee during hearings into record industry accounting and business practices.
