Fit & Fierce
Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP participates in the Global Corporate Challenge.
North Hollywood, Calif., June 10 – In a proactive approach to promote wellness and teamwork, Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP signed up 9 teams of its professionals for GCC’s 125 day Annual Global Corporate Challenge. Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co. and other participating organizations compete against each other in a virtual race around the world.
In a time when concerns are growing about the health and fitness level of Americans, Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co. looked towards taking big steps in the direction of health and team work by participating in GCC’s Global Corporate Challenge. During this challenge teams wear pedometers and log their daily steps, using their team’s cumulative steps to race around the world.
The interactive race format allows teams to view their progress against others both inside and outside the organization, as well as providing informative fitness statistics such as step averages and calories burned. “This is a great way for our teams to encourage one another to be more active and get healthy …” explains Keith Burchstead, Director of Human Resources and Operations “… all the teams involved are having a really good time and trying really hard to win and top each other’s personal best.”
The 4-month race will culminate in late September with each team receiving a newfound enjoyment for fitness, clearer awareness of their daily fitness habits, better team rapport and a secret grand prize to the overall winner.
